THE CHOQUEQUIRAO 5DAYS HIKE

The Choquequirao 5day hike: is a package designed for tourists who want more time to visit the beautiful Inca city of Choquequirao, and thus discover in more detail one of the last places of residence of the Incas.

The wonder of Choquequirao is not only centered on the Inca constructions but is complemented by the natural beauty in perfect harmony.

Like Cusco, the ancient capital of the Incas or other communities in the Andes, Choquequirao is organized in two halves or neighborhoods: the Upper or Hanan, and the Lower or Hurin.

The Upper neighborhood brings together several buildings related to the cult: temples and fountains grouped around a plaza, large terraces watered by a whole set of canals, and deposits or collcas to store the products used to supply the local population. The lower half houses large, very well preserved buildings, gathered around a wide esplanade.

Hike to Choquequirao Tour in 4 days and 3 nights

Day 1: Cusco – Cachora – Chiquisca

This day begins our adventure towards the last refuge of the Incas Choquequirao, the Choquequirao Travel team will pick you up at your hotel, then we will board the bus that will take us from Cusco through beautiful Andean landscapes to the town of Cachora where we will begin our walk, this day we will reach the Capuliyoc viewpoint where we will have a magnificent view of the Apurimac canyon, after this impressive view we will continue our walk until we reach Chiquisca, the place of our first camp.

Day 2: Chiquisca – Playa Rosalina – Santa Rosa – Marampata

We will start the day with a good breakfast, then we will begin our walk towards Playa Rosalina and from this point we will ascend to Santa Rosa where we will have a short break and time to taste Cambrai, a drink made from sugar cane, then we will continue ascending along beautiful trails until we reach Marampata where we will have our second camp.

Day 3: Marampata – Choquequirao

After a comforting breakfast, we will have this day to visit Choquequirao and its wonders, this will have a guided tour of most of the tourist attractions of Choquequirao and after this you will have time to make the visit on your own, after having a whole day visiting Choquequirao we will return to the camp where we will have our camp.

Day 4: Choquequirao – Playa Rosalina – Chiquisqa

After our breakfast, we will leave this beautiful place and begin our way back which will be downhill until we reach Rosalina beach, where we will have our lunch and have a short break to regroup so we can start our walk again until we reach Chiquisca where we will have our last camp.

Day 5: Chiquisqa – Capuliyoc – Cachora – Cusco

After our last breakfast, we will begin the hike and ascend to Capuliyoc where we will have a prodigious view of the snow-capped Padreyoc, the Apurimac canyon. After a 2-hour hike, we will arrive at the town of Cachora where we will say goodbye to the muleteers and their services. After this, we will board our transport bound for Cusco where our services end.

IMPORTANT:

• All buses leave from the Inca Trail to passengers in the Plaza San Francisco, you must self back to your hotel.
