Ausangate Tour 4 Days. It is an amazing hike through Ausangate Mountain, Pajchanta Hot Springs, 7 lagoons, Mountain of 7 Colors and the Red Valley.

This hike is recommended for those who are experts in hiking and for those who are in excellent physical condition, because you will walk more than necessary each day. You will cross 4 highest points that exceed 5,000 meters above sea level, the weather varies from 0°C / 32°F to 15°C / 46°F and you will walk through diverse and beautiful landscapes that will change daily from snow-capped mountains, colorful mountains and wetlands full of Andean biodiversity. You will also have the opportunity to walk among hundreds of South American camelids (vicuñas, llamas and alpacas).

The tour begins and ends in the city of Cusco. Departure from Cusco at 7 am and return at 6 pm

DAY 1Cusco – Tinki – Pajchanta – Pachaspata

To start the Ausangate trek 4 Days Tour, depart from Cusco at 7:00 am, and then travel in a private tourist van to the south of Cusco city. On this 3.5-hour trip, you will pass through the beautiful small and picturesque villages, Urcos, Ocongate, Tinki and finally arrive at the community of Pajchanta, located near the Ausangate and Qolqe Cruz mountains.

Before your first lunch at the Pajchanta camp, take a relaxing bath in the hot springs.

After your first lunch, start a stunning 3-hour hike in gentle ascent to the Pachaspata camp, situated between the huge snow-capped peaks from where you can enjoy the magnificent scenic beauty and the wonderful sunset. Admire also the amazing and famous 7 lagoons.

DAY 2: Pachaspata – Jhampa Pass – Huchuy Phinaya.

Today you will wake up to stunning views of the Vilcabamba mountain range.

Have breakfast outdoors with stunning views of the scenic beauty. Then, start the uphill hike to the first highest point of the Ausangate trek 4 Days, Jhampa Pass. From here, you will enjoy incredible landscapes.

At midday, enjoy a nutritious lunch at Jhampa Pampa. Next, descend along the banks of a small freshwater river and among hundreds of South American camelids and spend the second night of the adventure at the Huchuy Phinaya campsite, located just behind Ausangate Mountain and close to the base camp for climbing the Ausangate Glacier.

DAY 3: Huchuy Phinaya – Palomni Pass – Ananta

This morning will be unforgettable because you will be able to see 100% of the Ausangate Mountain, which is the highest mountain in the Cusco region and the fifth highest in Peru (6,385 masl).

At 6 am. Have your nutritious breakfast and then start ascending to the highest point of the Ausangate 4 Days Tour, the Palomani Pass. From this point, you will have beautiful 360° panoramic views and you will be especially amazed by the view of the small red lagoon.

If you are in perfect condition, from the Palomani Pass, you can ascend close to the perpetual ice, it will be an unforgettable experience. After photographing, descend to Ausangate Qocha (Ausangate Lake), where you will enjoy a rewarding lunch.

After lunch, continue walking along a gentle path to the Ananta Camp, where you will spend the last night of the adventure.

DAY 4: Ananta – Rainbow Mountain – Red Valley – Chilliwani – Cusco.

Today is the last day of the Ausangate and Rainbow Mountain Hike 4 Days / 3 Nights. However, it is a long-awaited day, as you will visit one of the most touristic places in the Cusco region, “the 7-color mountain and the red valley”.

To be the first to reach the rainbow mountain, have breakfast at 5:30 am, then cross the Warmisaya Pass or Vicuña Pass (4,985 meters). From here, on the horizon, you will already be able to see the Rainbow Mountain or the 7-color Mountain.

Try to get to the rainbow mountain viewpoint before 9:00 am and also before the crowd arrives by bus from Cusco. When you get to the viewpoint, take great photos without tourists. After 9:00 am, this place is packed, more than a thousand tourists visit every day, by then you will be heading towards the red valley, which is another fantastic place.

After appreciating the natural beauty, start descending to the Chilliwani community, where your private minivan will be waiting to take you to the city of Cusco.

Before starting a 3 and a half hour trip to Cusco, say goodbye to the adventure team (muleteers and cook).

Arrival in the city of Cusco – Hotel at approximately 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
